1934 50 series main bearings

It looks like Kanter only supplies bearings for 1934 40 series.  Are there suppliers for 50 series?

Mike,
I know that Erik Barrett in CA may have done it.
I suggest you give him a call or email him bcanumber99@...

Mark, hope all is well with everyone in your family. Is there anything I can help you with on main bearings?

It turns that I had enough shims to get my clearance down to .001-.002. Originally, I thought the mains were babbitted, so I took the engine all the way down to get babbit poured. I buttoned up the bottom end and just yesterday got sitting back in the car.

I am concerned about the fuel pump. It is original and I am afraid the alcohol may have gotten to the diaphragm. Du you know anyone supplying rebuild kits?

Mike,

0.001 clearance on the rods is too tight on the rods.  I remember John Gertskemper sitting at the side of the road waiting for his newly rebuilt engine to cool down.  He said he had set the clearance at 0.001.  0.002 is z better choice.

If you do not change them watch your temperature gauge when you start driving it.

Antique auto parts cellar is where I bought the fuel pump rebuild kit about 5 years ago.  The new name is Then and Now automotive .

I didn't touch the rods. They were inserted a long time ago. I only checked the mains.

I opened up the fuel pump and the fuel side diaphragm is still good.
